Abed Namavari, M.D.

Dr. Abed Namavari is a medical doctor and surgeon, a board-certified ophthalmologist, and a fellowship-trained retina specialist. Dr Namavari received a Medical Degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences and completed a transitional year at the Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He finished his ophthalmology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and graduated with a medical retina fellowship from the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, the highest-ranked ophthalmology program in the US. He then moved to Colorado and founded the Colorado Eye Clinic to provide personalized eye care to the community.

Dr Namavari has held license to practice medicine in Illinois, California, Florida, Wyoming, and Colorado.


Dr. Namavari has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals including Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science, Ophthalmology and Retina. He has presented at multiple conferences including the Association of Research for Vision and Ophthalmology. He has participated as co-investigator in multiple clinical trials for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Colorado Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. 


Dr. Namavari is fluent in English and Farsi. He enjoys swimming and spending time outdoors with his family and their dog.
